Medicare and Individual Health Insurance Plans keeping you Healthy, Wealthy and Happy!
Low cost plans for individuals under age 65 and their families who are not covered by their employer.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, legislation was passed to ensure people would have access to health coverage while the country was in a state of a public health emergency (PHE). This provided continuous coverage to people on Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) regardless of any changes in their eligibility during that period.
Starting on February 1, 2023, the states were able to resume Medicaid and CHIP eligibility that was temporarily stopped during the pandemic the state will review current recipients’ eligibility to determine if they still qualify for Medicaid coverage. Effective March 31, 2023, continuous coverage Medicaid will end. This process is called “Medicaid Unwinding”.
If you are an individual under age 65 or have a family that no longer qualifies for Medicaid, there are many high-quality affordable health plans available to you on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace. Plan premiums are based on your income and include no-cost Essential Health Benefits (EHBs). There are NO pre-existing exclusions. Anyone with preexisting health issues will be accepted at no added cost.
If you are over age 65 and have been on a Dual Eligible Medicare Advantage Plan (D-SNP) and no longer qualify for Medicaid, you will have a Medicare Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan or go back to your Original Medicare.
